Warm, cinnamon-sugar comfort — two perfect loaves made for sharing
Some recipes aren’t just about the food…
they’re about the feeling that comes with it.
Friendship bread has always been one of those.
It’s the kind of recipe that gets passed around, shared with neighbors, wrapped up for family, or dropped off “just because.”
But let’s be honest—sometimes the whole starter process just isn’t realistic.
That’s why this version is such a favorite.
You still get that soft, sweet, cinnamon-sugar loaf…
that same cozy smell filling your kitchen…
but without the extra steps or waiting days to get started.
And the best part?
It makes two loaves—so you can keep one and share one… just like it was meant to be.
Ingredients
1 cup milk
1 cup sugar
½ cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
For coating & topping:
Cinnamon sugar (for pans + topping)
Instructions (Makes 2 Loaves)
Preheat oven to 325°F and grease 2 loaf pans.
Coat each pan with a light layer of cinnamon sugar.
In a large bowl, mix all ingredients together until smooth (no special order needed).
Divide the batter evenly between both loaf pans.
Sprinkle the tops generously with cinnamon sugar.
Bake for 1 hour, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Do not remove early — trust the time for that perfect texture.
Tips & Serving Ideas
Use enough cinnamon sugar.
This is what gives that signature sweet, slightly crisp top—don’t be shy with it.
Let it cool (just a little).
It slices best once it’s had a few minutes to set… but warm is still magic.
Make it your own:
Add chopped nuts for a little crunch
Toss in chocolate chips for a sweeter twist
Or keep it classic and simple
Perfect for sharing:
Wrap one loaf in parchment + twine
Drop it off to a neighbor
Bring it to church, a gathering, or a friend
Or freeze one for later
A Little Kitchen Moment
There’s something special about recipes that are meant to be shared.
Not fancy.
Not complicated.
Just simple, warm, and made with a little extra intention.
This is the kind of bread you bake on a quiet afternoon…
with something playing in the background…
and that cinnamon smell filling every corner of the house.
One loaf stays on your counter.
The other?
That’s the one that makes someone else’s day a little sweeter.
And honestly… that’s what this recipe was always about. 🤎
