Fresh, Bright & Party-Ready

There’s just something about lemon drinks on a warm Arizona day that feels like pure sunshine in a glass. Around here, when the heat kicks up, I’m always looking for something refreshing, simple, and just a little fun—and this tequila lemonade checks every box.

This is the kind of drink I imagine setting out on the table during a backyard get-together, maybe with some good food, laughter, and music playing in the background. It’s easy, it’s bright, and it brings that little spark that turns an ordinary day into something special.

And I love how even simple moments like this—pouring a cold drink, sitting with family—can feel like a blessing.

“Every good and perfect gift is from above…” — James 1:17

Sometimes that “gift” is just time together and something refreshing to share.

This tequila lemonade is light, citrusy, and perfectly balanced with just the right touch of sweetness. It starts with a simple homemade syrup, fresh lemon juice, and finishes with smooth tequila for that refreshing kick.

Ingredients:

• 4 cups water, divided

• 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

• 1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice

• 1 1/2 cups blanco tequila

• 1/2 cup triple sec (optional)

• Ice

How to Make It:

  1. In a small saucepan, heat 1 1/2 cups of water with the sugar over medium heat, stirring until fully dissolved.

  2. Remove from heat and let the simple syrup cool completely.

  3. Fill a large pitcher with ice.

  4. Pour in the remaining water, cooled syrup, fresh lemon juice, tequila, and triple sec (if using).

  5. Stir well and serve over ice.

That’s it—simple, refreshing, and ready to enjoy.

• Chill before serving for the best flavor—this gets even better cold.

• Adjust the lemon juice to make it more tart or more mellow.

• Skip the triple sec if you want a lighter, cleaner lemon flavor.

• Add lemon slices for a pretty presentation (and that extra fresh feel).

• You can easily make a non-alcoholic version by leaving out the tequila and triple sec.
