The Easiest Summer Dessert You’ll Make All Season

There’s something special about peaches when they’re at their peak. Sweet, juicy, and bursting with flavor, they practically beg to be turned into dessert. This Crock Pot Peach Cobbler is one of those recipes that feels like summer in every bite.

What makes this recipe even better is that your slow cooker does all the work. Fresh peaches cook down into a warm, syrupy filling while a tender cobbler topping forms right on top. The result is a cozy dessert that tastes like you spent hours in the kitchen when it was actually incredibly simple.

Serve it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and don’t be surprised when everyone asks for seconds.

Ingredients

For the Cobbler

  • 8 medium ripe peaches

  • 1¼ cups granulated sugar, divided

  • ¾ cup white whole wheat flour

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon baking soda

  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, sliced

For Serving

  • Vanilla ice cream

  • Frozen yogurt

  • Greek yogurt

  • Heavy cream

Instructions

1. Prepare the Peaches

Peel the peaches using the boiling water and ice bath method if desired. Slice into ½-inch wedges.

Spray a 6-quart slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.

Place the sliced peaches into the slow cooker and toss with ¼ cup of the sugar.

2. Make the Cobbler Topping

In a medium bowl, combine:

  • Remaining 1 cup sugar

  • White whole wheat flour

  • All-purpose flour

  • Baking powder

  • Baking soda

  • Salt

Mix until evenly combined.

Sprinkle the dry mixture evenly over the peaches.

Arrange the butter slices across the top.

3. Slow Cook

For a slightly crispier topping, place a folded paper towel or clean kitchen towel under the lid to absorb excess moisture. Check occasionally and use caution to ensure the towel does not become excessively hot.

Cook:

  • HIGH for 2–3 hours, or

  • LOW for about 4 hours

The cobbler is ready when the peaches are tender and the topping is lightly golden.

4. Serve

Spoon the warm cobbler into bowls and top with:

  • Vanilla ice cream

  • Frozen yogurt

  • Greek yogurt

  • A splash of heavy cream

Oven Option

Don’t want to use the slow cooker?

Transfer everything to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish and bake at 350°F for 35–45 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.

Tips for Success

Use Ripe Peaches

The sweeter your peaches are, the better your cobbler will taste. Look for peaches that yield slightly when gently squeezed.

Leave Some Texture

Slice peaches thick enough that they hold their shape during cooking.

Don’t Stir

Once you’ve added the topping, resist the urge to stir. Let the layers cook naturally for the best cobbler texture.

Make It Extra Cozy

Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the dry ingredients for a warm, comforting flavor.

Variations

Berry Peach Cobbler

Add:

  • 1 cup blueberries

  • or 1 cup raspberries

for a colorful summer twist.

Brown Sugar Cobbler

Replace half of the granulated sugar with brown sugar for deeper caramel notes.

Southern Style

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce.

Storage

Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

To reheat:

  • Microwave individual servings for 30–60 seconds.

  • Or warm in a 300°F oven until heated through.

This Crock Pot Peach Cobbler is one of those desserts that feels both rustic and comforting. The sweet peaches, buttery topping, and effortless preparation make it perfect for summer gatherings, church potlucks, family dinners, or simply treating yourself after a long day.

When peach season rolls around, this recipe deserves a spot on your table.
