There are regular burgers… and then there are breakfast burgers. The kind stacked high with crispy bacon, melty cheese, a fried egg, and a smoky-sweet sauce that drips down your hands in the best way possible.

This recipe feels like something you’d order at a cozy little diner after church, a weekend road trip, or one of those lazy Saturday mornings when nobody’s rushing anywhere. Around our house, these are the kind of meals that make everybody suddenly appear in the kitchen asking, “Is that almost done yet?”

The maple syrup and sausage give these burgers such a rich savory flavor, while the creamy sriracha sauce adds just enough kick to wake everything up. And that runny egg on top? Absolute perfection.

I also love how flexible these are. You can make them for brunch, breakfast-for-dinner nights, game day, Father’s Day, or anytime you want something hearty and unforgettable.

Sometimes comfort food doesn’t need to be complicated. It just needs to bring people to the table smiling.

These Breakfast Burgers are juicy, smoky, cheesy, and piled high with bacon, eggs, peppery arugula, and a creamy maple-sriracha sauce. They’re bold, messy, comforting, and absolutely worth every napkin.

For the Burgers:

  • 6 slices bacon

  • 1 lb lean ground beef or turkey

  • 1/2 pound breakfast-style sausage in bulk or casings removed

  • 1 tbsp pure maple syrup

  • 1 tbsp whole grain mustard

  • 2 cloves garlic minced (about 2 tsp)

  • 1 tsp kosher salt

  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

  • 6 ounces freshly grated white cheddar cheese

  • 6 brioche burger buns or English muffins

  • 6 large eggs

  • Fresh arugula

  • Canola oil for cooking the burgers

For the Sauce:

  • 1/3 cup mayo or plain Greek yogurt

  • 1 tbsp pure maple syrup

  • 1 tbsp Sriracha

Instructions:

  1. Bake bacon at 400°F for about 15 minutes until crisp.

  2. Mix sauce ingredients and set aside.

  3. Combine beef, sausage, maple syrup, mustard, garlic, salt, and pepper. Form 6 patties.

  4. Heat skillet over medium-high. Add oil and cook burgers 3 minutes per side.

  5. Flip and cook another 3–4 minutes until 165°F. Add cheese to melt.

  6. Toast buns if desired.

  7. Fry eggs to desired doneness.

  8. Assemble with sauce, arugula, burger, bacon, and egg.

The combination of smoky bacon, creamy sauce, melty cheddar, and rich egg yolk makes these burgers feel over-the-top in the very best way.

  • Brioche buns make these extra rich and bakery-style.

  • Swap turkey for beef if you want a lighter version.

  • The maple-sriracha sauce is also amazing on fries or sandwiches.

  • Cook eggs over-medium if you want less mess but still creamy yolks.

  • Serve with crispy breakfast potatoes, fruit, or onion rings.
